Adoption Event @ Mathis Home | Indio, Ca

I’ve been to several adoption events in my pet photography career. From animal events and pet stores to coffee shops - I’ve never seen one held at a furniture store. Could Mathis Home be starting a new trend? I sure hope so!

When I heard that Mathis Home was hosting an adoption event with The Palm Springs Animal Shelter, I knew it was an opportunity to photograph the dogs in a “home” setting. A setting that said, “hey, this could be me on your bed.” As you can see, these dogs know all about R&R, and any of them would fit perfectly in your home.

Even though it meant leaving a few paw prints on their beautiful showroom furniture, I ( and the dogs ) are so incredibly grateful Mathis Home allowed me to photograph them.

One of the great things about The Palm Springs Animal Shelter is that they work with dog trainers, which made it super easy to photograph them. They’re still learning ( and will work for treats), but for the most part, they had a handle on sit, stay and lay down.
